My Hair is my Most Expensive Accessory

I LOVE my hair.  Sure, it's long enough to be a hassle, and I generally keep it pulled back, but I have had two terrible haircuts that taught me to value long locks.

The biggest problem with my hair has always been the fact that..well, it's platinum blonde.  It costs A LOT to keep it healthy and hydrated, but with the help of my two most valuable hair products, I have been able to keep my hair long AND color treated, which is a feat in and of itself.

You might recognize this from my previous blog post, but that is how much I love it!  It is expensive, but lasts forever and does exactly what it says it will.  One to two pumps in damp hair is enough to add shine and hydrate my hair.  It even speeds up the dry time of your hair if you let it air dry!

This hydrating cream is fantastic for hydrating dry hair in between washes as well as adding volume and flexibility.  Not only that, but it makes your hair smell FANTASTIC when it gets a little wet.

What products do you use to keep your color treated hair healthy?

The Bling Ring: Flea Market Ed.

So I had a little free time before work today, and took a trip to a local flea market.  I didn't have a lot of cash on me, but I bought two beautiful rings for 7 bucks!!!!!

I chose an onyx color as well as a turquoise because I have the tiniest fingers and these were actually the two stones I wanted! (Lucky me!!)

You can't tell from this photo, but it is a round stone

I love onyx, I know it seems dark, but black will always be a classic :)

Whip my Hair (Don't Wash) Pt. Three Strikes you're OUT!!!

I have failed.  After attempting a week without washing, I didn't make it past three days.  In my defense, the shampoo I use is free of sulfates, and I am surprised I didn't find a twig in the rats nest that my hair had become.  But while I may have succumbed to soft, clean hair, what better time than now to let you know the products I use to keep my hair soft and healthy!

Let's start off with my shampoo.  Yes, I splurge on Pureology.  Yes, I buy the 33.8oz bottle, it's a much better bargain and lasts from 6-8 months!  When I started using this, the first thing I noticed is that I wasn't getting hairballs in the shower (gross, I know).  It also made my hair softer, and has a great lather to it.  PS- It's vegan AND sulfate free!!

This conditioner is from Pureology's HYDRATE line.  This stuff is full of minty goodness that leaves yourself feeling as though you're receiving a scalp massage while you're conditioning your hair.  Talk about a one-two punch! :)

Moroccan Oil is the holy grail of styling products.  Having platinum blonde hair means that you've gotta pay out the nose to keep your hair hydrated.  Not only does this product keep my hair from looking like a bail of hay, but it adds a nice glossy sheen to it! :)

Well, there you have it, these are a few products I use to keep my hair clean and soft.  If I am being honest, I have no regrets in washing my hair, it just makes me feel clean inside and out.

What products do you guys use to keep your hair healthy and clean?

Whip My Hair (Don't Wash) PT. II

Ok, it's actually day three of the seven day..no hair wash challenge.  I almost succumbed in the shower today because I cannot stand it when my hair is greasy.

Grease is for bacon, not my roots!

So yeah, my hair is HUGE, and it's usually flat and lifeless.  Even when I put in mousse, it tends to flatten out.  Part of it is because my hair is so long.

Today I used the powdered Oscar Blandi dry shampoo and I am going to throw it up into a messy bun.

What products do you guys use to keep your hair manageable in between washes?
Hugs! -E.

Whip My Hair (Don't Wash!)

So I am new to the blogging world, and therefore I look to others for inspiration.  So when wonderful u mentioned she wasn't washing her hair for a week, I thought "HEY!  I'm lazy and that sounds like fun!"  On a more serious note, washing your hair everyday is a HUGE no-no, and while seven days is a long time (especially with my roots coming in), it's excellent for balancing the PH levels in my scalp.

Ok, maybe this is the "Evan, what are you thinking?!" Look.  Doesn't matter, I'm already two days down.

Much better.  This is an EXCELLENT excuse to go beanie shopping.

Also Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo is a total lifesaver!

Peace Love Lush|| Lemony Flutter

During these harsh winter months, my skin is especially parched.  While it is easy to stay on top of moisturizing your hands and skin, a lot of people don't realize that your cuticles need special treatment.

I love Lushes Lemony Flutter because it hydrates my cuticles better than any hand cream could ever do.

Also, if you use it frequently, it also strengthens your nails, making them hard as rocks!!

I hope you all enjoyed this review!  If you have any suggestions to what lush products I should try next, leave a comment below!

Chapstick Addict

Moist.  A word that I dispize, but, when it comes to my lips, I require.

This lip balm is a staple in my collection!  It makes my lips ultra-glossy and moisturized for HOURS!
It also tastes great, and doesn't leave a waxy aftertaste or texture in your mouth.

This is the cutest lip balm I've come actoss.  It is shaped like an egg, and has so many sweet flavors, it's hard NOT to get addicted! ;)
It's not the most hydrating, but the packaging is too fun to pass up! :)

This is my least favorite Chapstick that I've used recently, but it is worth mentioning due to the fact that it is fantastic for severely chapped lips.  I generally stay hydrated and moisturized, but when I was a kid this would have been a godsend.
It unfortunately has a waxy aftertaste to it, and while it hydrates instantly, it doesn't last as long as other products I've used.

Snowed-IN Pt. II

You'd think that I lived up north, and NOT in the southeast.  We have had two named winter storms in less than a month!!!  The first one shut down the city due to lack of preparedness.  The second one dumped so much ice that my car froze to the pavement.

Funnily enough, winter weather is not new to me.  In fact, my job revolves around the weather.  Doesn't make experiencing it first hand any better.  It just makes life more difficult, because when the weather gets rough, I'm working overtime.  When I am working overtime, and they need me to be able to get to work, instead of driving in icy conditions until I breakdown on the side of the road, or drive into a tree, they stick me in a hotel room.  Don't get me wrong I love my job, but after a long and grueling day at work, its nice to pass out at home in your own bed.

Let's go Square Dancing!

I have the day off work today, so I decided to head out to the town square for a slice of pizza.  Usually I loathe pizza, because my job forces me to eat it several times a week, but in this case, I caved..

Just thought I would share my simple manicure today.  It's, a little bit chipped, but the color is flattering and reminds me of warmer weather

It's an Este Lauder polish, can't remember the name.  Will update soon.

Grrridlock!

I survived the SNOPOCALYPSE!  I live right outside Metro Atlanta, and our two inches of snow left us in a gridlock for 24+ hours!!!

Of course living in Altanta means that not everybody knows how to dress for winter weather.  Maybe I was jealous of the fact that he moved farther in five seconds than I did in twenty minutes.
